A funeral marks the close of human life on earth, and is a way to say farewell to the person who has died. It can be both an opportunity to mourn and to celebrate their life as well as commending them to God’s safe keeping.
Everyone has a right to a funeral in their Church of England parish church, regardless of whether or not they attended Church.
Clergy see funerals as an important part of their ministry and will gladly give their time to talk to those experiencing the pain and loss of losing a loved one, as well as helping to arrange a funeral service. Please feel most welcome to bring your questions in connection with this to Revd. Janet.
